In Cases Of Child Abuse Like Baby Peter Are Fathers Or Mothers More Vilified?

Mothers...mainly because its seen as unnatural.

You carry that life inside you for 40 weeks, feel it growing and can't wait for this little person to arrive. Then you spend the next god knows how many years beyond the age of 18 trying to keep them safe from harm. To want to hurt that life or to not want to protect that life goes against the grain. In Cases Of Child Abuse Like Baby Peter Are Fathers Or Mothers More Vilified?
I dont think there is much difference to be honest.

They are equally responsible for their child`s welfare.

But as the mother, is usually responsible for the majority of childcare, in most relationships, particularly with a baby or toddler. It is hard to comprehend, that a mother, can allow serious abuse to take place, under her nose and not put a stop to it.In Cases Of Child Abuse Like Baby Peter Are Fathers Or Mothers More Vilified?
Naturally, we would expect a mother to want instinctively to protect her young but I can tell you from experience (my own mother) there are many many women who do not have this maternal instinct. Ultimately, irrespective of gender, it would a normal human reaction to want to help a child rather than abuse it. This case has really got to me - when I see that little boy's face, I get an instant lump in my throat at the thought of his long and painful death. I feel I want to scoop him up and take care of him.

Sadly, this won't be the last - thanks to our current Government who willingly fund this ever growing underclass of society to have children by dishing out endless benefits, women will continue to have children they don't really want for financial gain. This will in turn ensure that we have endless social workers, police and the like who don't care very much about child welfare but are more interested in ticking boxes and meeting targets. Rant over.x
The mother he was her baby , meant to be looked after and protected What did she do - nothing Child neglect. The men were not his father but that is no excuse , Adults are meant to protect children not abuse. Now it will cost millions to keep them in prison then pay for new identities when they are released to keep them safe. why are we going to pay to keep them safe when we failed to keep that little child safe! What a total waste of money.
The absent father can not be vilified in the same way as those responsible for the main care of Peter...he lived in a house full of dirty animals and was treated worse...I believe the torture of Peter stemmed from jealousy fuelled by histories of abuse and neglect on both sides, not to mention a total absence of nurturing instinct
it prob more shocking for a woman but both are just as bad, I couldnt imaging how or why some one could do souch a thing, I cant stand to her my kids cry, I would have thought that the reaction to any childs suffering would be to care and protect them non should be allowed to have kids or be near kids , or even see the light of day again, dont think either are villfied because what they did is wholy unacceptable and any retributions and ';bad press'; or villification are deserved, they are not being made out to be something that they are not, they are crule evil child killers, whose actions are so horrid they have forgoed any liberities or basic freedoms just the same as they have denided that poor child, they should be grateful that we no longer hang murderers, althought hanging would be better than the end they dished out to baby p,
They are as bad as each other. I think the mother has had more attention, because she should be a mother.... we are supposed to have mothers to turn to and to care for us selflessly. So people are shocked by it.

The thing about this case is, that it makes me think that I would like to see these evil people pay the ultimate penalty. I cannot forgive that they would make someone like me feel that way. I want to hold onto my conviction that the death penalty is wrong, but they make it hard.
Probably mothers. In this case the three of them deserve no mercy and the sentences they have received are a joke.

The three of them will have an easy life on release. What justice is that for baby P. None. Mother or father or brother in this case they are evil people who need to have their appeal overturned and given life.
the mother and rightfully so... she was there!!! the mother should be given a life sentence and the step father death. perhaps both of them should be sentenced to death. she is essence was an accomplice fully aware of the suffering of her child. Pity and mercy she wanted... what pity or mercy did she provide for her son??? jail is not where they should be... death is what the child got and it was not a quick lethal injection but days of torture suffering and pain... the sentence should be appealed alright... but not to favor the guilty.
The father has shocked me, I'm sorry but he could have done more. It's horrible to say but it's true.

Women because women are meant to be the nurturing type whereas men are depicted as the typical abusers.

It was HER child though and she let it happen which is what has disgusted people.
How can anyone call that ***** a ';mother';? If she gave a damn about her son , she should have kicked the abusing piece of cr@p and his brother out ! They were actually Peter's ';STEP father and uncle';! I believe that Peter's biological father got intimidated by Haringey Social Services.....
mothers are always more vilified than fathers

why do we expect much from women and seem to totally accept it when a man does not care or take respinsibilty for his child

baby p;s father should of been a better father and she should of been a better mother
Everyone in that little boys life seemed to turn a blind eye. That so called mother of his is not human, how can you sit watching porn and drinking vodka, while your little boy is screaming in agony.
mothers because they are the gentler sex. females are supposed to be caring while men are supposed to be hard. i wonder where it all went wrong?
Mothers and so they should be. It should be a natural, mothering instinct for a woman to protect her child no matter what the circumstances are.
without a doubt mothers

maxine carr was more vilified than huntley even though she was not even in the house at the time
Both equally.
Mother...
Mothers,

But in this case, i am sure the father could have done more,
