Why do men get more cases of tourette's syndrome than women?

please use all scientific terminology, and describe it if it is because of a chromosome or something else thank youWhy do men get more cases of tourette's syndrome than women?
usually this is because it was thought that tourettes was genetic. females have 2 x chroms and males have an x and a y. if in the case of a female, the additional x chrom can sometimes function for the problematic other x chrom. in males, since there is only one x and one y, one cant really compensate for the other and so its more likely that males will have the disorder then females.

research is showing however that it doesnt necessairly have to be genetic. I'm female and I have tourettes...my brother however doesnt. nobody in my family has ever been diagnosed with it though besides myself. Why do men get more cases of tourette's syndrome than women?
Not sure, but here is the name of the gene:

SLITRK1 on Chromosome 13.
